Sammy put smiles on millions of faces around the world. He lifted people’s spirits from all walks of life. His alter ego, Dr. Harp Seal had the same effect on people. So much so, Sammy caught the attention of the United States Army. And most particularly, the attention of retired veteran, Enrico Dexter.
Mr. Dexter put in a request for the US Army to customize a soldier uniform for Sammy. I am pretty sure that Sammy is the only 10 pound Pomeranian to ever be inducted into the United States Army. I was so proud of my boy and grateful to Soldier Dexter. It was an incredible moment and honor for the Everybody Loves Sammy Community.
Only once in a thousand years or so do we get to hear a Mozart or see a Picasso or read a Shakespeare. Sammy was one of them. (Quote from Billy Crystal on Muhammad Ali).
